Sutton-in-Craven Parish is located 5 miles south-east of Skipton. It is one of the most southerly parishes in Craven, bordering the county of West Yorkshire. |
|

Sitting in a cleft of the Pennines, the village is surrounded on three sides by hills which rise sharply to around 1,000 feet. Falling from these hills is Sutton Beck, which runs through the village into Holme Beck, eventually joining the river Aire near Kildwick. |

Sutton-in-Craven is a vibrant community, with shops, businesses, good schools, churches,Village Hall, Community Centre and leisure facilities such as the Cricket ground and the Park which acts as a strong focal point for the whole settlement. |

The surrounding countryside provides ample opportunity for informal leisure activities such as walking and cycling. Amenity areas include Sutton Pinnacle, Lumb Clough and Crag Nook Delph. |

Sutton-in-Craven Parish Council is non-political and is made up of two wards, Sutton Ward and Sutton Mill Ward. |

Parish Councils are the first tier of Local Government and therefore have an important role to play in local democracy. The Parish Council represents the interests of the local community, using the powers it has to make the Parish a pleasant place to live and work by maintaining, protecting and developing the environment around us. |

In England there are nearly 100,000 Parish and Town Councillors who make up around 10,000 Parish,Town and Community Councils. |

The ten councillors representing Sutton-in-Craven are all unpaid local volunteers from all walks of life with a common goal of working together to improve the village. |

The Park, Land at Sutton Clough, (Sutton Hall Estate), Crag Nook Delph, Pinfold, Hanginstone Quarry, Lund's Tower, the Allotments and other small areas. |

The Jubilee Tea Room opened in 2004 to provide a service to the community. It is a non-profit making facility and funds go to purely covering overheads. |
